SCON Cancelled
In light of the escalating pandemic of COVID-19 in the U.S. and the precautions which institutions and government agencies are urging us to take, the CFC Singles for Christ National Core Group, in consultation with the CFC National Family Ministries Head, has decided to cancel the 2020 CFC Singles for Christ National Conference (SCON) in Maryland on June 26 to 28.
RECONs
In lieu of the National Conference, we will consider using Regional Conferences (ReCon) to communicate the SFC Global theme of FULLY ALIVE. We are aiming to have ReCons conducted in the Fall using the National Conference materials. The CFC Singles for Christ National Core Group along with the CFC-SFC Area Couple Coordinators in each region will continue to monitor and re-assess the situation over the coming months to decide whether to conduct the ReCon, with a final decision to be given before July.
SFC ACTIVITIES
With the push for social distancing coming from government, schools, and dioceses, it is important now, more than ever, to stay connected with our brothers and sisters. The Household and General Assembly are essential, not only for maintaining our spiritual journey, but also for our brothers and sisters to remain connected through our community. We urge every Chapter to continue with both weekly/bi-weekly Households and monthly Assemblies using online video chat software (e.g., Zoom, Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts).
RESOURCES
In order to continue providing a unifying pastoral direction to our SFC members nationally, we will be releasing information here and via Instagram and Facebook. Releases will include important announcements and resources such as: 1) supplementary pastoral nourishment, 2) in-person family activities, 3) prospective activities for online Households. We are uncertain how long the changes to our everyday lives will last. Let us be a source of certainty and comfort by continuing to join together as a community that prays unceasingly.
